Was Were का प्रयोग भी Is Am Are की तरह ही किया जाता है, फर्क बस इतना है की Was Were का प्रयोग पास्ट टेंस के वाक्य बनाने में करते है और Is Am Are का प्रयोग प्रेजेंट टेंस के वाक्य बनाने में किया जाता है।
Was Were का प्रयोग करने सम्बन्धी नियम:
1). Was का प्रयोग Singular subjects (I, he, she, it, name of a single person) के साथ होता है।
2). Were का प्रयोग Plural Subject (we, you, they, name of two or more person) के साथ होता है।
3. Negative sentences का वाक्य बनाने के लिए was/ were के बाद ‘not’ का प्रयोग होता है।
4. Interrogative Sentences बनाने के लिए was/were को वाक्य के प्रारंभ में लगाया जाता है तथा वाक्य के अंत में Question tag (?) लगाया जाता है।
